Hello,

Is it possible to for a user to remove images, or add folders within the file manager section? So far I can only see a way for them to be able to upload new images, but not remove ones that are already there. I found some information on a forum post about right clicking but this doesn't seem to work on a mac (tried safari and chrome). Have included a screen grab of how the file manager looks to me (so far I have just been manually adding folders within the uploads section, not via the file manager).

Thanks

Anna

Hi Anna,

Right-clicking the image or the folder (in sidebar) shows a popup menu with options for copying, moving, deleting etc.

It works pretty well for me (and have never had any reports of this not working before) but I am a Windows guy so cannot comment how it behaves on Mac.

Perhaps members from our community who work on Mac could kindly chip in with their experiences?
Anna,
I can confirm that right-clicking behaves normally on a Mac - in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. When you say it doesn't work, what happens instead of it working? Nothing? What if you right click on the desktop? Do you get a context menu popping up? The reason I ask is that right-clicking, or the "secondary button", can be disabled on a Mac. I think it might even be the default setting. You can change your mouse settings in System Preferences if that is the case.

Have checked and it works fine in Firefox - must be a safari/chrome mac issue. Unfortunately my client uses chrome on a macbook! Obviously I can ask her to download firefox as a last resort but would rather see if there is a way to get it working in chrome/safari first. When I try to right click a folder there is a status bar in the bottom left of the browser screen that says:"Display a menu for kcdir:/image/(folder name)

Oh - have just seen your reply Tim. I do have right clicking disabled, but normally a control click achieves the same effect as a right click, and it does in this case firefox, but just not in safari or chrome strangely.

Any ideas?
So I have tried some things out and can confirm that right click does indeed work in safari and chrome, but it has to be an actual right click on your mouse or trackpad - not the usual alternative of control click, as this will only work in Firefox.

Although this isn't ideal - it's not a huge problem - I have just asked my client to enable the right click functionality on her mac when she is working with images in the CMS.
This appears to be a bug in the file manager. The two browsers themselves respond to a control-click with a context menu, it's only the file manager that doesn't behave. We had an issue a while back where inline editing had a different problem that only surfaced in webkit browsers.
