Hi there,

I installed CouchCMS on a friend's website some time ago, and left everything working fine.
Now she gets the message "Installation required", while I, trying to update the installation get che message :
Installation Failed -- Table 'couch_comments' already exists

Would I be able to just go ahead and update by deleting the couch folder, or what is the best way in order to make the site visible to the public again?

Thanks,

Liz
Hi Liz,

I've seen this problem being reported only twice before this -
1. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7057&p=9277
2. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7267&p=10098#p10098

In the second case it turned out to be a backend permission issue so it was not serious.
The first case, however, is something that every developer dreads - corrupt database and lost data.

I sincerely hope yours is not the second issue.
If you have a site backup available, please try to apply it.

You may, if you so wish, grant me phpMyAdmin access to the site and I'll be happy to take a look but chances are there is little we'd be able to do without a backup. Please let me know.
Dear KK,
Thank you so much for redirecting me to the previous posts regarding this issue, had not found it myself.
I checked and indeed it is a DB-issue, I can see that my friend hasn't renewed her MySql subscription...(and the automatic backup service neither)

Sort of explains everything.
Will have a go at it again...

Thanks
Liz
I'm glad I could help, Liz :)
