Hi, I'm currently using CouchCMS as the back-end for one of my first web projects, and so far I've been testing everything from a WAMP server on my local machine. CouchCMS is fantastic so far, however I'm looking to include a contact form on my website.

I'm not sure what to add to the config file, considering it's asking for my websites email address which, as I'm running from the localhost at this point, I don't have. I'd like to make sure I have everything working before I get the site online. I'm sure this is a simple problem, but having never worked with a CMS / PHP / back-end / localhost before I'm getting a bit lost.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a simple tutorial on setting up emails from localhost using Couch?

Setting up mail on localhost is a tricky proposition (will require setting up a separate mail server).
However, once your site is migrated to a proper hosted server this will cease to be a problem as all webhosts provide mail service as part of the hosting package.

So, for all practical purposes you can do without sending actual mails while the site is on localhost.

To see how the sent mail would look like (and all other mail parameters), please use the 'debug' setting of cms:send_mail tag as follows -

<cms:send_mail from='admin@mysite.com' to='johndoe@gmail.com' subject='Feedback from your site' debug='1'>
..
</cms:send_mail>

This would write all mails in a file named 'log.txt' found in your site's root. You can examine the emails in that file.

Make sure to turn off debug once the site goes live.

Ah, good to know there is debug for it. I was always using some Test Email Server Tool or something like that.
