I've tried to fix the issue myself, but now I get a different error message.

Access denied for user 'contact_admin'@'192.185.35.242' to database 'contact_mrchyatt'

I'd really appreciate some support. I'm new to couch, but it looks like I'll be using couch on a few sites and I'd really know how to fix my own problems

The issue you mentioned seems to be a permission related one.
Please use phpMyAdmin (or any other database manager at your disposal) to grant 'Full access' to the 'contact_admin' user for the 'contact_mrchyatt' database.
