Hello everyone,
I'm currently struggling with CouchCMS (or one of the includes) choosing to replace the spaces and periods in my filenames with dashes / hyphens. This makes browsing images rather more confusing for me, and I know it will be even worse so for my clients. (Though the thumbnails in KCFinder help a lot!)
Namely, we are working on a museum exhibition, so filenames such as 98.539 Cup with Lyre-Player _ Athletes--interior.jpg are not uncommon (which results in 98-539-cup-with-lyre-player-_-athletes-interior.jpg). It's not horrendous, but definitely gives one a headache after having to deal with dozens of images like this!
Is there a simple way to stop the file uploader from changing spaces to hyphens and from forcing lowercase in my filenames?
When I "upload" the files by hand (e.g. via Explorer on my local server or FileZilla on remote) and select them with the server browser, everything works just fine, so afaik, this forced renaming is absolutely unnecessary. Maybe it's not as SEO-friendly, but frankly, I'm more than willing to take that trade-off (if it exists at all) in most cases.
I might go ahead and have a poke-around in the code. I'll share my solution if I have it done before anyone else replies!
Thank you,
Illya
