I don't know why, but the thumbnail cropping doesn't work well.

I mean it crops from the middle, but when I want to crop another part and recreate, it does it, but don't save it - it crops the thumbnail, show it re-cropped, but when I save it, it comes back cropped in the middle.

You know why?

It happens to me for tableaux-sur-toile.com, hopper-paintings.com, paolowebdesign.com and the website of a customer cef.vn

I haven't noticed it until today.

I believe this behavior is caused by browser caching; please take a look at viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6928. The first three posts are mostly relevant... then I go off on a tangent.

While the images on the server are in fact updated correctly, your browser has no reason to make a request for the new files. It already has cache-control instructions telling it to hold onto the original image for whatever length of time you have specified. A workaround for this is to refresh (F5) the page.
