Hello Forum....

I have updatet Couch on one webpage that I work on now, and I wanted to check permissions with sitescan.php, that I uploaded in the Root folder...

File scan went fine, but in the middle of the Folder scan, I got the message 500Internal Error...
Now I also cannot change permissions from within my FTP program, and I cannot upload files anymore...

I have now some kind of general permission problem, because I cannot access the website from any side - not via browser, nor couch admin or FTP...

Could anyone help please?

That is pretty strange, Tanja.
Did you try accessing the site through CPanel's file manager?
Hi KK!

No, I just used sitescan.php, from the root....
I did not install File manager yet , if I understand what you mean....

the host is Aruba.it
I am trying to reach them, but it seems that will not be soon....
This is probably some security issue with the server I guess....but I am not sure....

Hello Kamran!

Aruba support has set all permission to their original, which is 755....They write:

"In fact PHP exclusively needs 755 permissions; different permissions generate the error you saw:

http://kb.aruba.it/KB/a2182/if-when-run ... trans=true "

They obviously do not use 644 for files....

Tanja
Thank you for letting us know, Tanja.
I am glad the problem is resolved.

Aruba's use of 755 for files is definitely in variance with what most of the other hosts require.
But then if that is what they mandate, that is what it has to be :)
Hello Kamran!

I just wanted to add, after Aruba changed permissions to 755, I could not access Couch admin to log in...
I wrote to them again, and this is what they did:

"we commented the directive

Options All -Indexes

present into the .htaccess file into the directory couch.
That solved the problem."

So I just wanted to add this, I have no idea what has happened here...But it works now...

Thank you for letting us know, Tanja.
I am sure this will help someone facing the same problem.
