I've just completed feature-freezing v1.4. Have now to work on a nice detailed tutorial that could highlight the new features of it (the primary being posting data from front-end forms). So, if you're waiting for 1.4, I think there is still some time to releasing a RC of it (cannot commit to a definite date).
The version without IonCube, that was being discussed above, will actually be the Release version of 1.3.5 - it will be the same as that currently available for download from viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7377 just with the encryption removed.
This is the one that is coming out soon.
However, I suggest that you go ahead with using the RC mentioned above as there will be no differences in terms of features between the two version.
