Is there any way to click the next month on the small/big calendar without it having to reload the whole page?

One way would be to throw in a bit of JS to intercept the click and then invoke the link in the background via AJAX. Parse the returned content to pick out the calendar and update the original one on the main page.- standard AJAX routine.
