I just now got a message from my client that emails sent from his website are not arriving. It was all working correctly, the last received email dates to 9th of March.

They receive mails from the regular contact us page and the checkout page that uses Couch cart. Funny thing is that it just suddenly stoped working.

Anyone else experienced the same thing? None of the files were touched or changed, so it must be something on Godaddy's end. Have they maybe disabled the mail() function?
Probably disabled. Better ask them ;)

As to solution - relatively not so long ago there was a thread where @KK integrated PHPMailer into send_mail tag.
Now you can migrate the whole setup without changing code in templates. This solution would help overcome the trouble because it supports smtp auth.
Life saver!!

Mirko, as @trendoman suggested, you can try using the SMTP method - viewtopic.php?p=22911#p22911
@trendoman, @KK Thanks for the suggestions, I was just about to make it, when I received the email from my client.

This is an excerpt from the phone talk with support.

"C Panel was set up to only receive internal email not external and that was the problem. He says that occasionally when there is a host update the C Panel has been known to do this on it’s own."

So, false alarm guys :) I was thinking of even deleting this thread, but maybe it does hold some value.

Since godaddy is widely used, this is good to know that cPanel can sometimes reset itself to just receive internal email. Might save a few hours of someone's time.
Thanks for letting us know that, Mirko.
Yes, I agree, this info could come in useful to other GoDaddy users too.
