Having trouble, total newbie!

Basically, I seem to have installed everything locally fine, and everything is going well aside from whenever I click on anything in the Admin section, I get logged out.

Any ideas?

I can only say that local stacks are known to behave in erratic manner.

I suggest you please try moving your test site to an online server. Chances are you won't encounter this behavior. And, in case, if you do I'd able to access the setup to try and find the problem.
On a local setup, I am afraid, there is little I can offer as help.
