Recently, i have started getting a 'could not connect to site' error a lot. I have contacted hosting provider and they say everything is fine and ran my website through several scanners as well, there seems to be no malicious code. Is it something within couch that could be causing this or otherwise? Please help, it's really frustrating.

Please search this forum for a similar message - if it had anything to do with Couch you'd surely find a lot of such complaints.

While I totally understand your frustration, let me assure you that it has nothing to do with Couch.

If your site is running on a shared server, resource contention amongst the other sites running on the same server could explain this problem (your host is unlikely to admit that he has over-sold the server space).

Please try moving the site to a better host.
