I am new to couch.

I just started attempting an install of Couch CMS using this guide:

The problem I have is that my site doesn't currently use a database, so I have no database to point Couch to. so is it enough if i just create a database for Couch to use, and a user account? or do i have to create specific tables too for the db?

You need to just create a database (with the associated user account) - the tables would be created automatically by Couch's installation routine.
