I'm running this locally with MAMP. I have two fields: media_content and media_image. I can save content to the former fine but with the latter (when trying to upload an image with the Browser Server button) I get this error:

Forbidden. You don't have permission to access /content/includes/fileuploader/browser/browser.html on this server.

I'm not sure where to go from here. Has anyone else encountered this?

Never came across this error.
It seems to be permission/configuration issue related specifically to your local setup.

I am a 'Windows' guy so, I am afraid, won't be able to help you much with a Mac issue (maybe someone else will chip in).
Can only just say that, I am sure, you won't encounter this problem on a hosted server.
