Is it possible for your snippet files to have editable regions? For example, I have a footer.html in the snippet folder and I want the copyright info to be editable by my client. Is there a way to make it editable and remain a snippet? Thanks for your help.

What you need is a 'global' editable region i.e. one that is available to all templates - in your case via the footer snippet.
Please take a look at http://www.couchcms.com/docs/tutorials/ ... -ends.html in our tutorials section where the implementation of such global regions is explained in detail.
