I'm new here and I've done some reading of the documentation, but didn't come across this yet. How can I make a header and footer that is shared among all pages. Basically I just want to have to change the header/footer in one spot and have it apply to the whole site. This doesn't really need to be editable in the admin area as I would not want my clients trying to edit it.

However, I may want to have one section of the header that is editable by the end user. Is this possible?
Hi,

You can use the embed tag (http://www.couchcms.com/docs/tags-reference/embed.html) to share snippets across templates.

You can also create global editable regions and use them across templates.

Both the approaches have been described in our tutorial at http://www.couchcms.com/docs/tutorials/ ... -ends.html
I'd strongly recommend you go through our tutorial where we build a complete site from scratch - http://www.couchcms.com/docs/tutorials/portfolio-site/

Hope this helps.
I did go through the tutorial and saw the part about using embed, but I missed the part about making editable content in the embedded file. I think what I need to do is just start up a project and learn that way.
