If a admin user puts a email address in the text editor so it shows within the content on a page and they make it a email link, is there any way to protect it from spam

I looked at the email guardian addon but think that would only work if the email address is hard coded and but if a admin user types in name@domain.co.uk and makes it a email link, I don't think the email guardian tag will work will it?
