I am trying to install couchcms on a 123 Reg hosting and is a nightmare, I don't have cPanel access unfortunately due to the guy saying I can't have it as is all his other sites on there etc. so all I got from him is the db info which put into the config file and all I am getting is the following when trying to install

Could not connect to database
No such file or directory

I have deleted the three htaccess files, has anyone else had a similar issue when trying to install couchcms on 123 Reg hosting

I'm, sure it's the guy not giving me the correct info thinking about it as tried a test_db.php script and says Connected to MySQL but then underneath says the following

Access denied for user 'dbusername'@'%' to database 'dbname'

It probably hasn't enabled read / write permissions to the database.

You are on a server with a shared administration panel, if possible, I recommend that you change plans and make yourself independent.

That's what I thought that the guy has not done the read / write permissions to the database. This is why having to go through a third person can be a nightmare as have to wait until they get back to me and to set things up

If I had it my way I would move to the client to move hosts to who I use but they don't want to and want to keep everything where it is which makes things more difficult for me when issues like this happen
