Let's collect useful examples to expand our view.

I like what a colleague did with URL scheme in a website he coded long ago - very nice job!
For example a product can be accessible with flat link - https://mototechnica.bg/motul-8100-x-clean-5w30-5l.html
And also same page is inside category https://mototechnica.bg/masla/ and https://mototechnica.bg/masla-motul/
The story's point -

1. Flat url structure is good for SEO.

https://www.redbubble.com - it is nice how product can be preloaded via JS below the product's row.

It is nice to have subscribe window (or any similar) inside the product row - no popup, right inside the user focus.
