Hello All,

This is my first post here.

I'm at the stage where I'm about to customize the Aurelius template site and everything looks great so far.

My intent with Couch is to replace an existing Joomla 2.5 installation (Slashdot published my CMS "story" last week and I found out about Couch there in the comments). I've inherited a site with 2200 existing registered members, how easy will it be to bring those members into Couch along with all their activity history? I'd need account management software similar to AEC (Account Expiration Control) which we use now but is no longer supported, apparently. Does Couch have anything similar?

Hi, @PipingGuy.
Couch doesn't have it even remotely.
Conversion of your established site could take well over a month and things like AEC would require a lot of custom work. Please give us a reason why you are going to dive into this? :)

I inherited the site administration duties and wanted to minimize the dynamic content at the existing site since most of it doesn't change. It originally appeared that Couch was the ideal software to do that. I also intend to hand over the admin work to a non-techhie so something less bewildering than Joomla would have been nice.

AEC has been 'unpublished' so I have to choose another option to handle subscriptions anyway, and it looks like I'm back to Joomla admin hell for the time being.

Thanks for the input.

CouchCMS is all about dynamic content but it has some simple caching system to make all couch-managed templates delivered as static html.
