How well can or does couchcms perform in heavy traffic?
Should be fine even without cache and worry-free with cache enabled :) I haven't seen some huge traffic yet.

Thanks for the assurance.
No problem :) Don't take my word as a plan though :D

How many do you expect daily? Do you know/use any load testing tools?

Would you like to set up a sample page with some features on your server to test both CMS and server? How many pages do you estimate to load in CMS?

Did you prepare a list of features that can invalidate the cache? It often is set to bust after info is saved to database (counting page-hits with cms, voting, polls, comments, uploaded posts, user-registration, admin saving data in backend, search with cache off etc). Couch is better than many other CMSs, but every chicken needs a good recipy :D

Thanks again. Main reason why I asked in the first place is because I will be using a shared host and just want to make sure that the cms is not the cause of bottlenecks etc.

I am also deciding on cloud hosting and at the moment weighing my options due to budget constraints. However speed is my biggest priority and I think I will be opting for cloud hosting.

Any thoughts on thought?

Thanks once again. BTW, CouchCMS rocks!!!
Can't say anything here. No details about your project :)

CMS works fine even on cheapest hosting possible (2$ a year).
There are built in parameters for key tags, like cms:pages (and its derivatives) has count_only, ids_only, skip_custom_fields, limit, paginate. So, fine tune your listing and pay attention to details :D
