is there a way to set up a search function to only search content within a certain folder off root? we have a folder that requires login authentication and don't want search results to show from other pages outside that folder

Hi,

The cms:search tag supports specifying the exact templates that it'd search (http://www.couchcms.com/docs/concepts/using-search.html).

That property can be used to exclude certain templates. If, however, by folders you meant the 'virtual' folders (categories) that one has within the same template, I'm afraid I don't think we can stretch the granularity to that level.
